Old Business:
R. Campbell reported that he had not received any information from Dave Berto regarding the cottages since their last meeting in December. He stated that he has had several discussions with the First Selectman about various things concerning the cottages, but no decisions have been made at this point. He stated that he still has not been able to get on the agenda for the board of finance because he does not have the budget information he needs from Dave Berto. R. Campbell stated that he still does not know if Dave Berto negotiated the contract with Crosskey per the board’s discussion.
T. Millex asked R. Campbell where the Housing Authorities money is currently. R. Campbell explained that after the town meeting the First Selectman moved it to the general fund, but it is supposed to be earmarked for the Housing Authority.
The board discussed what type of infrastructure could be built using the initial money. R. Campbell stated that they can’t build any infrastructure without having a design plan for the cottages first.
The board discussed the previous conversation with the board of selectmen regarding the placement of the water line. R. Campbell stated that he does not care which direction they run the line as long as they will be able to connect to it.
T. Millex asked how the board was planning on funding the building of the cottages. R. Campbell went over the various grants that Dave Berto will be applying for. T. Millex asked what type of time frame is the board looking at to start work on the cottages. R. Campbell said he thought they would be ready to start the infrastructure in September.
R. Campbell said that he will call Dave Berto and ask him to attend the next meeting and have Crosskey attend as well.
New Business
W. Gangaway said he spoke with two Willington residents who are interested in moving into the cottages once they are built.
R. Campbell stated that he wants to make sure the wording is correct between the engineer, architect and Dave Berto in regards to the cottages being one bedroom with a study or den opposed to two bedrooms.
R. Campbell gave T. Millex a set of the plans that Crosskey presented to the board as concepts for the project. R. Campbell asked T. Millex which layouts would be best for getting fire vehicles and ambulances into the complex. T. Millex stated that they all meet the needed turning radius. R. Campbell stated that he thought option two worked best for snow removal.
C. D’Agata made a motion to adjourn at 6:25 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
